Dr. Kinkade has been treating low vision patients for over twenty-five years. With multiple Connecticut locations, he travels extensively helping patients with visual impairments and often lectures on vision rehabilitation topics. He also maintains an office at Vision Dynamics in Cheshire.
Dr. Kinkade is a 1981 graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry and specializes in Low Vision Rehabilitation Optometry. He also has a Masters Degree of Public Health from the Department of Community Medicine at the University of Connecticut. He has adapted his studies to concentrate on prevention of disabilities related to visual impairments.
He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry Low Vision Section and also a member of the Low Vision Rehabilitation Section of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Kinkade is a low vision consultant for the Connecticut Board of Education and Services for the Blind, and has gained recognition as a highly regarded Connecticut low vision doctor.
As a founding member of the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists, he meets annually to advance the field of low vision with top optical designers and manufacturers.
When he is away from his Connecticut low vision treatment centers, he enjoys walking the beach with his wife and stays busy keeping track of his three sons. Dr. Kinkade's hobbies include gardening and golfing.
