Dr. Kinkade has been treating low vision patients for over twenty-five years. He travels extensively helping patients with visual impairments and often lectures on vision rehabilitation topics. Dr. Kinkade treats patients from all over New England. Currently he sees patients at Newton Eye in Newton (just west of Boston). He also treates patients in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York.

Dr. Kinkade is a 1981 graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry and specializes in Low Vision Rehabilitation Optometry. He also has a Masters Degree of Public Health from the Department of Community Medicine at the University of Connecticut. He has adapted his studies to concentrate on prevention of disabilities related to visual impairments.

He is a Fellow in the Academy of Optometry low vision section and also a member of the low vision section of the American Optometric Association. In addition to his duties as a New England low vision doctor, Dr. Kinkade is a low vision consultant for the Connecticut Board of Education and Services for the Blind.

He enjoys walking the beach with his wife and stays busy keeping track of his three sons. Dr. Kinkade's hobbies include gardening and golfing.
