Visual Acuity:

20/40 in the better eye, with or without corrective lenses.

20/70 in the better eye with restrictions on speed limit.

When VA is 20/80 or up to, but not including 20/100, applicant referred to driver evaluation unit.

20/100 in the better eye- applicant is denied a license


Visual Field:

Horizontal  field of vision 105 degrees.

Horizontal field of vision of less than 105 degrees: possible with restrictions.

Bioptic telescopes are not mentioned in the regulations.  However, if the applicant can meet the minimum requirements, the doctor must write "bioptic lenses" on the vision report form. The driver evaluation unit will conduct a "visual road test" before licensing.
