Dr. Dulce Walker graduated from University of Kentucky in 1982 and received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University in 1986. After graduating from Optometry School, Dr. Walker was commissioned as an Air Force Officer and served as an optometrist in the United States Air Force for 5 years. Dr. Walker and her family moved to Albuquerque in 1992. From 1992-1994, she was the Clinical Director of Optometry Services at the Santa Clara Indian Health Clinic, Presbyterian Medical Services and Acoma Canoncito Laguna Hospital. Dr. Walker also worked for Eye Associates of New Mexico, the largest ophthalmology practice in New Mexico.
In 1995, she opened a private practice, East Mountain Eye Clinic in Edgewood, a full service optometry clinic providing comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting, and diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases. In 2001, she opened Low Vision of New Mexico to provide low vision services in New Mexico and surrounding states. Dr. Walker takes special pride in the high quality, one on one care she provides all her patients. She combines a low vision evaluation, corrective eye wear and low vision aides to give her patients the best quality of vision possible.
